Power System Reconfiguration in Distribution Network for Improving Reliability Using Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization

This paper presents an optimal method for optimizing network reconfiguration problems in a power distribution system order to enhance reliability and reduce losses. Network can be viewed as optimization problem involving set of criteria that must reduced when adhering various constraints. The energy not supplied (ENS) during permanent faults active losses are the objective functions optimized this study phase. These objectives expressed mathematically will integrated into algorithms used throughout study. To begin, mathematical formulation optimized, well all constraints met, is proposed. Then, solve difficult combinatorial problem, we use exhaustive approach, genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm (PSO) on IEEE 33-bus electrical network. Finally, performance evaluation proposed approaches developed. results show topology using PSO approach contributed significantly improving reliability, node voltage, line currents, calculation time.
